The Berks organization will offer all grad student volunteers at the 2014 Toronto Big Berks a free student membership to the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians!  The offer also applies to completed PhD volunteers earning under 20k.

For more information about the organization (Berkshire Conference of Women Historians) and the annual Little Berks, go to berksconference.org/membership.

Some more information on membership:

Prospective members may wonder about our relationship to the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women (also known as the “Big Berks”), the internationally famous women’s history conference held every three years. The answer is that the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians originated and now sponsors and helps plan the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women.

The Big Berks is not a membership organization or a series of retreats. You do not have to be a member of the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians to attend or give a paper at the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women.

Memberships are based on self-reported salaries:

Below $10,000 = $10;
$10,000-19,999 = $14;
$20,000-29999 = $25;
$30,000-39999 = $30;
$40,000-49999 = $35;
$50,000-59999 = $40;
$60,000 and up = $50
