Taxis

Downtown Toronto is relatively compact. Many attractions and restaurants are located within a fairly short distance.

Public Transit is easily accessible.  You can get detailed directions on how to get to U of T (or anywhere in the city) by using public transit by calling 416-393-4636.

There are four Subwaystations near the St. George campus:

  • St. George (at Bloor Street and St. George Street)
  • Spadina (at Bloor Street and Spadina Road)
  • Queen’s Park (at College Street and University Avenue)
  • Museum (at Bloor Street and Queen’s Park Crescent)

Click here for schedules and routes on busses, trains and streetcars, and here for an interactive map of the Toronto subway system.

There are two Streetcar routes that pass by campus:

  • The 510 Spadina streetcar runs along Spadina Avenue from Spadina subway station, along the western edge of the campus.
  • The 506 Carleton streetcar runs along College Street, along the southern part of the campus. You can catch the 506 from College station and Queen’s Park station on the north-south Yonge-University-Spadina line.

There is one bus that runs through campus:

  • Catch the 94 Wellesley bus from Castle Frank subway station (Bloor-Danforth line), Wellesley subway station (at Wellesley Street and Yonge Street on the Yonge-University line), or Ossington station (Bloor-Danforth line.)

Getting to Campus if you have accessibility needs

If you are in a wheelchair or have special mobility needs, the TTC offers two options for getting around Toronto and to U of T:

  • For information about accessible public transit, please click here.
  • Wheel-trans services are available for students with mobility disabilities.
  • Many subway stations and buses are also wheelchair accessible.

Transit Fares

An adult single fare on the TTC is $3 CDN.

Tokens are sold at subway stations at $2.65 each when you buy 3 or more at a time.

Subway stations generally have attendants who will make change; streetcar and bus drivers will not accept paper currency and will not make change (though you can round up if you don’t have exact change).  If you are riding a streetcar or bus, remember to take or ask for a transfer if you also want to take the subway – similarly, if you are taking a subway, and also want to travel by bus or streetcar, remember to get a transfer.
